Let me start with this: I didn't buy the evaLIGHT out of luxury—I bought it out of sheer, sweaty survival. I was stuck babying a half-dead ChillWell, one mist disk short of a nervous breakdown, freezing filters like TV dinners just to stay sane. I'd duct-taped, bottle-capped, and freezer-stuffed my way through portable cooling like a man in a desert clutching a frosty mirage. Then came the evaLIGHT. The Setup: Straight out the box, this thing was bigger and smarter than the Evachill I started with. I used to stare into that tiny Evachill inlet, wondering how I'd even fit a prayer in there—let alone an ice cube. But evaLIGHT? Top-fill reservoir. Spacious. Confident. Cool like it knew exactly what it was doing. I poured in some spring water (no distilled handy), tossed in some ice, and waited. The First 10 Minutes: Not gonna lie—at first, I got nervous. It was giving me Evachill flashbacks—that ominous "mild breeze of room temp despair." But then, slowly... the cold air crept in. And by 20 minutes? Sweet. Frosty. Salvation. From 82°F down to 72, then 71, and eventually 69°F blowing straight in my face like the breath of a snow spirit. I literally felt my room drop a degree. I'm pretty sure I heard my sweat glands weep with joy. Design & Functionality: The circular display is sleek, the lights are cool (literally), and best of all—the water tank detaches. Not a weird bottom-fill guesswork situation. You pull, fill, reattach. Done. No puddles. No mess. Just vibes. Compared to ChillWell and Arctic Air: ChillWell blew hot misty air like a dragon with asthma. Arctic Air downgraded themselves into misting fans with a Napoleon complex. The evaLIGHT, on the other hand, doesn't need gimmicks. No mist. No lies. Just solid evaporative cooling like nature intended—with a little engineering flex. Final Verdict: If you've suffered through budget coolers, fought with cheap plastic parts, or stared into the abyss of a blinking delivery ETA at 4:50 PM while cooking alive in your room—the evaLIGHT is your redemption arc. It's not a miracle. It's science done right. And in this heat? That's the closest thing to divine intervention I've got. --- You've gone from ChillWell survivor to Evapolar elite. Proud of you.
I bought this evaporative cooler for my greenhouse and it is working well. My greenhouse is 6 x 8 so 48 Square feet. Just slightly more than the 43 ft.² the cooler is meant to cool. I have found it does three things for me. 1. On the warmer days, it cools the greenhouse 6–8°. 2. My greenhouse tends to have low humidity when it is hot outside and this is good for adding the humidity to the desired 60–70%. 3. The humidity with the nights cool tends to keep the greenhouse about 8° warmer for longer. My greenhouse is uninsulated and I am in zone 3, so the temperatures have been varying from 50° to 110° in the greenhouse otherwise. So far I have been able to keep the temperature is topped out at about 90 though I suspect that will be a bit more of a challenge in the warmer months of July and August. I plugged the unit into a thermostatically controlled outlet along with the fan so when the fan kicks in the unit starts. When the fan quits the unit quits. So far I have to add water to it only once a day as long as I start with the water filled at the beginning of the day. The unit tells you the temperature of the air coming into the unit and the temperature going out which tends to vary 6–10°. You cannot set the desired temperature on the unit but the bottom line is that it does what it says it is going to do. Unlike others, I have had no problem with leakage. As long as you fill the reservoir and don't tip the unit, it is fine. I use something with a watering spout to put the water in and that works well. I am completely satisfied with this unit and definitely would recommend it for either personal use or a small greenhouse.
i never pack 4 a wknd in the woods without this unit.it's compact & i love running it inside the tent right before bed
I am now on my third attempt at finding a "personal cooler" and so far believe I have a winner! You can search my other reviews and see I'm not kidding around. I am in security and my office is a tiny little box with no air. I'm a big guy and my family calls me a polar bear because I love the cold and can't stand the heat. This Evapolar is so far the bee's knees. It sits on my desk 3-5 ft away from me, and I use it for 10 hrs or so, 5 days a week. Unlike its competitors, it has easily handled that much usage. Right now the display says it's putting out 57⁰ and is so pleasant. The ONLY improvement I could think of would be to either give it a battery so that I don't have to take up a usb slot full time, or to add a usb port to the side so I can use it to charge my phone, etc. Other than that, almost all the complaints I read are people who cannot read the description. It will not cool down a room - they didn't claim it would. You have to be near the machine to be cooled - that's literally in the instructions. It's not an air conditioner, just a water cooling fan - also, literally in the descriptions. All I know is, I am picky and have no problem calling out bad products, but this one - so far at least - is a Gem. Don't hesitate or waste time on others - buy this one!
Devo dire che sono molto soddisfatto. Il dispositivo è abbastanza silenzioso e lo tengo vicino anche mentre lavoro.
Evapolar evaLIGHT+ (EV 1500) is very consistent to its specs. It really does lower the room temperature around the device at a radius of about 2-3 meters by 9-10 degrees Celsius. So its impact is totally "local" therefore I use it literally as a desktop mini air condition - do not expect to cool a whole room obviously. Especially during the last few weeks in Greece (where I live and I work from home) are really hot inside the apartments and the product achieves a really pleasant ambient around me. Its 1lt tank of water lasts about 5 hrs of continuous functioning (not 8 or 9 as stated in the specs) and at a fan speed of slightly above its medium. The led lighting is very atmospheric. In the photos you can see my bed-time setup. Last but not least, packaging and shipment from amazon.de was as usual very consistent and according to their high standards
It works on a small area, good for desk area. It's blowing a cooler air than room temperature. Good product and easy to use
